The creative process of the cameo begins in the seas and the oceans in where the divers appropriately select special shells from 90  on 100 feet below the water’s surface. Thus a new dimension of the  artistic ability and the esthetic demand was added to the cameo, that in its carving was discovered that many stones and but ahead shells, consisted naturally of diverse colored layers. This allowed the artist to create a striking contrast between the  raised (relief) layer and the flat (background) layer.

The piece to record first is cut in circular or made oval forms with abrasive thin discs. Once made the cut, sawyer and the  roughdressing the carving is begun, with steel burins of diverse sizes and with a winch with

horizontal axis on which it is possible to be applied different mall pillows based on the necessities from the sculptor. The work of the sculptor is handmade and the name of the technique is the glíptica.

Every single Cameo has a history in itself–an exemplary story of devotion and dedication of a long and hard apprenticeship. It’s a rigorous selection where fantasy, creativity and knowledge of the drawing are essential to give life to the cameos narrated in only 2 millimeters of thickness, such as these pictured here.

Since ancient times, the cameos have been prized by collectors and jewelers. Each cameo is unique which it will provide you an exclusive personality.
